SSL VPN
« on: August 14, 2011, 09:04:01 AM »
Hi,

I have two NetScaler 9.2 appliances in HA mode that are configured to provide ICA proxy and SSL VPN access. The SSL VPN scenario is set up with Pre-Authentication policies for incoming devices etc. Now, I have recently been asked to setup additional SSL VPN access for a different use case with different pre-auth policies etc preferably with the same FQDN and SSL certificate.

A few KB articles suggest this can be done so I've given it ago. Basically I have created another SSL VPN vServer with the same VIP but using a different port number. I have also bound the same certificate as before since using the same certificate is preferable. My dilemna is that when I browse to https://fqdn:1443/ (second vserver) I get a page cannot be displayed error or a timeout from IE. I've also tried https://fqdn:1443/vpn/index.html and that doesnt work either.

Are there any other additional steps that I may have missed in setting this up? DNS? site path?

Cheers

What you are trying to do, I tried and failed (version 8.1) in the past. AGE is very picky with ports, even when you specify another port, the AGE functionality will redirect the user to 80, 443 and 8080. So I would use a different VIP. Or integrate the two sites to a single site.

Give it a try anyway.

Do you guys think vpn reviews can help me in my problem. I am looking to encrypt all my traffic so no one can see what sites i am visiting and mainly protect my privacy.  I did look at TOR but found out making a request to a site took ages and it was just not very useful as site were taking 5 min to load. I also head that the exit node it was possible to capture data and information.
