« on: September 26, 2011, 02:23:20 AM »
Hi All,

I have one question, how i determine which model Citrix NS is suite for my company network. I want to load balance server with throughput/bandwitdh average 2mb to 10mb only. Which model is suitable to support this ?

What kind of traffic will you handdle?
By throughput a 5500 will do, but it depends on what will the box do.

Netscaler can also loadbalance wan links: this is called TRANSPARENT load balancing, as we don't want to proxy the traffic at all, just intelligently share the traffic across 2 or more links.

Health checks would be done with transparent monitors, typically these would probe something at the other end of the link (eg the remote routers)

thanks for the reply..

I want to know which model can support 8 millions concurrent sessions (access session/capacity).

Interface - 8 x network - Ethernet 10 Base-T/100 Base-TX/1000 Base T, RJ-45 | 1 x management RJ-45 | 2 x serial-232-9 pin D-sub (DB-9) | 2 x USB - 4 pin USB type A

which model is suitable for this setup ?

Thanks in advances. ;D

There does not exist a single load balancer model/appliance which can handle 8 million concurrent sessions in the world, nor would there be a capable internet connection suitable for this kind of traffic into a single datacenter.

If this were an actual true scenario you would have think about implementing multiple load balancers across the globe using proximity based load balacing (ie. GSLB).

You're welcome.

You're completely wrong. There are several than can do up to 64M concurrent connections. Concurrent connections simply means the maximum number of connections in a connection table. It's not as if every single connection is active at the same time. Citrix, F5, and A10 all have models that should be able to handle 8M connections comfortably. Do more research next time.

cript2000, thanks for the clarification, I would say concurrent == active sessions. If you could mention some models that are capable of such numbers I'd love to hear it.
