Error: Authentication failed due to use authentication problems
« on: September 15, 2008, 11:18:29 AM »
Can someone test something for me? If you have an HA pair on a version of 8.1 code but NOT 58.5 can you add a cert to your primary node and tells me if it syncs to your secondary node?

This feature use to work for me but ever since updating to 58.5 it no longer works. Now I get an error message that says Authentication failed. However if I run the following commands from the CLI it works
sync ha files all
force ha sync

Citrix is telling me that certs never synced between boxes. I swear this is not true but I can no longer confirm it as all my boxes are updated so I'm hoping someone here can test for me.

Thanks

ZManGT,

I am running a 7.0 version and it certainly does NOT sync files.  I have no plans of upgrading to 8 in the near future, but I know for fact that it doesn't on 6 nor 7.

I hope it helps.

The certs sync for me in version 8.1 (and I believe they did the same in 8.0).  The Auth Failed error sounds like it might be the RPC password?  Just a thought.

From version 8.0 I believe that syncing of SSL certs should happen, but there is a small caveat. Let me quote from the ICG:

"If you create or copy a configuration file on either system using a method
other than the direct GUI or the CLI (for example, SSL certificates, or
changes to startup scripts), you must create or copy the configuration file
onto both the primary and the secondary systems."

I read that to say that if you add certificates via the GUI (where it lets you upload them, or create your own) then it WILL sync the certificates. But if you SCP files onto the box, then they will NOT be automatically copied over.

Turns out this a bug that will be fixed in the next release.
